Privacy Policy
This policy explains how the Breimer Household Hub handles information when our family uses the site and connects Google Calendar.
Effective August 7, 2026
Who this app is for
The Breimer Household Hub is a private, personal-use family organizer operated by Matt Breimer. Access is limited in the application to approved Breimer family Google accounts. It is not offered as a service to the general public.
Information we handle
- Google account information: your name, email address, and basic Google profile information used to identify an approved user.
- Google Calendar information: calendar names, identifiers, colours, access levels, and event details such as title, time, date, and location.
- Household information: family-member names, lists, meal plans, recipes, routines, special days, weather location, and display or calendar preferences entered in the hub.
- Authentication information: a Google OAuth refresh token used to maintain the Calendar connection. The token is encrypted and stored in a secure, HTTP-only browser cookie. When a household display is paired from an authorized phone, a one-time pairing record becomes unusable after ten minutes and is removed after use or during automatic cleanup.
How information is used
Information is used only to operate the family hub: authenticate approved family members, display and organize Google Calendar events, create events at a user’s direction, synchronize household information across signed-in sessions, show weather for the selected location, and maintain requested preferences.
Google API data
The hub requests Google permissions for basic identity, read access to calendars, and creation or editing of calendar events. Google Calendar data is used only for the user-facing calendar features described above.
The use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is not used for advertising, sold, or shared with data brokers.
Storage and service providers
Shared household records and calendar mappings are stored by the site’s hosting infrastructure. A browser may also keep a local cache of events and preferences so the display can reopen smoothly. The selected weather location is sent to Open-Meteo to retrieve weather data. Hosting and infrastructure providers may process information only as needed to operate and secure the site.
Sharing and disclosure
Information is not sold or rented. It is shared only among the approved household users, with service providers required to operate the hub, when a user directs the app to communicate with Google Calendar, or when disclosure is required by law.
Retention, access, and deletion
Household information remains stored while the hub is in use or until it is edited or deleted. Google access can be revoked at any time from your Google Account’s third-party connections page. Revoking access prevents future Calendar access but does not automatically remove household records already entered in the hub.
To request access to, correction of, or deletion of stored household information, contact mattbreimer@gmail.com.
Children’s information
The hub may contain family information about children that a parent or guardian chooses to enter. The app is a private household tool and is not designed to solicit personal information directly from children or from the public.
Security and policy changes
Reasonable technical safeguards are used, including restricted accounts, server-side authorization checks, secure cookies, and encrypted Google credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security. This policy may be updated if the app’s features or data practices change; the effective date above will be revised when that happens.
